I saw Alejandro Escovedo again last night. He played with David Pulkingham a short but virtuosic set. Unfortunately, the woman sitting behind us was an ecstatic. Throughout the show she audibly gasped, “Oh my god!” “His voice!” “You have leather!” If you want to know what it was like, ask someone to stand behind you and release an occasional gutteral breath like a death rattle while you watch these clips:
