When I began reading Michael Solow’s tribute to his dog Neptune, I thought I might offer it up as a kind of secondary blog tribute to Tenna, but now that I have read it, I am not sure what to do with it. On the one hand, in my experience authenticity is not something dogs worry about. On the other hand, I know what it is like to know shame and regret for the fact a dog once gave me more love than I deserved.
